Oscar the Octopus

Hello!
I want you to be among the very first to receive a brand-new episode of the Object Diaries podcast: Oscar the Octopus.
This is a story about a beloved childhood toy named Oscar. It's also a story about mothers and sons, what we leave behind when we grow up, and what we want to hold on to.

Gregory was two weeks old when his mother, Kalli, perched a brightly colored stuffed octopus named Oscar on his bassinet.
Kalli quickly noticed that whenever Oscar fell, her son Gregory would cry. Gregory and Oscar soon became inseparable.
Throughout childhood, Oscar the Octopus went with Gregory almost everywhere, from doctor's visits to trips between Mom and Dad's houses and all places in between.
One time, Gregory nearly lost him at Kmart.
Well, now Gregory is 30. In this episode, Kalli and Gregory look back on life with Oscar. What role did Oscar play, and is he still relevant now?
Indeed, he is, just not in the same way.
This story reminds me of how important it is to hold on to our uniqueness, regardless of others' opinions.
Please take a listen to this beautiful story about a mother's love for her grown-up son, and how one small, stuffed octopus played an outsized role in their lives.
